Mangrove and Bocabarra Tour

This is a boat tour that first passes through the Mangrove Reserve and the Los Palos Lagoon, and finally travels along the Chiquimulilla Canal until reaching La Bocabarra. A unique experience where you can enjoy birdwatching, the typical flora of the Chiquimulilla Canal, and witness the spectacular meeting of the canal and the sea.

4-hour tour

At the end of the tour, we will visit the Arcas nature reserve in Hawaii, where you can see all the wildlife rescued by the center and the animals that are about to be returned to their natural habitats.

During turtle release season, you can experience releasing turtles into the sea.

    What will I see

    during the tour?

    Mangroves and Palos Lagoon

    You will take a tour through the mangroves and the Palos Lagoon. It is a moment of calm that will connect you with nature.

    Arcas (Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Association)

    It is a protected area of 3 hectares of beach where you can see animals in captivity and animals in recovery waiting for the right moment to be returned to their natural habitats. You will be able to see parrots, caimans, freshwater turtles, and iguanas, and you can take a tour through its dry forest.

    Chiquimulilla Canal

    It is an artificial waterway built to serve as a communication route between territories. It dates back to 1886. It is 140 kilometers long and receives water from rivers such as Maria Linda, Michatoya, Los Esclavos, Achiguate, and Cojolate.

    Parlama Turtles

    During release season, you will have the opportunity to participate in releasing turtles into the sea; it will be a unique experience.
